St Hilda Sea Adventures provides a unique small ship cruise on the beautiful west coast of Scotland. Cruise the Hebrides or Argyll for that unforgettable family holiday in Scotland.
The St Hilda is ideal for that very special family cruising holiday in Scotland. Cruise spectacular isles and sea lochs where there are large areas of sheltered waters and remote anchorages that are perfect for waterborne activities. Come aboard to sail; explore wild and remote sea lochs, islands and coastlines; observe the extraordinary wildlife or just relax and mess about on the water. Each day is as action packed or as relaxing as you please - perfect for recharging the batteries.
The west coast of Scotland is rich in sea birds and marine life and you will never forget your sightings of otters, seals, porpoises, basking sharks, orcas and minke whales. We have even seen a humpback whale breach right in front of the boat.
Youngsters and adults love to haul up the main and mizzen sails, set the
jib, and learn to tie sailing knots. There is plenty of room on deck to carry your canoes,
windsurfers or cycles.
The yacht tender is at your disposal and you can go for fabulous mountain and coastal walks, visit the seaside rock pools and view the regions unique shore-side wildlife.
The St Hilda is a great adventure holiday in Scotland for small groups of friends and families. Teenagers in particular love life aboard our ex-tall ship as they learn about sailing and seamanship. It's great fun for everyone to shoot lobster pots, fish for the evening meal, snorkel around the boat and jump and dive overboard. We can even examine, on some of the cruises with the St Hilda's microscope, the beautiful underwater world of microscopic plankton – a true microcosm of life.
St Hilda Sea Adventures is very aware of the special nature of the environment in which it operates and makes every effort to run the boat in a way that protects the pristine places it visits. Please note that all our itineraries are example itineraries and are, of course, weather dependent. Occasionally we might choose an alternative route and night anchorage.
