This sailing holiday explores many of the sea lochs of the Cowal peninsula, on the West Coast of Scotland, rich in wildlife and with some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe . Loch Goil, Loch Long, the Kyles of Bute leading to remote Loch Riddon and Loch Striven provide a sailing holiday playground of sheltered waters for learning to sail and navigate. For extra fun, on your sailing holiday bring your kayak, windsurfer and swim from the boat or go ashore to explore the coastline.
Example holiday itinerary
- Day 1 Sail Loch Long and Loch Goil and experience sailing and navigating one of the smallest “Tall Ships”. Anchor off Carrick Castle for the first dinner of your sailing holiday on board and perhaps go ashore by tender for an evening stroll
- Day 2 In the morning head for the beautiful Kyles of Bute. Explore the sea lochs of Riddon and Striven, watching for grey seals and marine birdlife. Enjoy dinner at anchor in one of the most scenic locations in Europe. After dinner, go ashore, help lay lobster pots or try fishing from the boat tender
- Day 3 Waken to the pristine beauty of the remote Kyles of Bute and enjoy an idyllic breakfast at anchor. Choose to go ashore to explore or cruise the coastline, trying out your sailing skills
- Day 4 Take an early morning walk ashore, after breakfast, enjoy a leisurely cruise along the coastline to Holy Loch for disembarking at 11am
