See what the Guardian had to say about our holidays   http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2009/jun/13/family-sailing-holidays-scotland-uk

The St Hilda is  a great sailing holiday for small groups of friends and family, therefore our minimum booking is for four people for the boat to sail.  If we have a booking of four, we can then offer a booking for two other people to fill the boat

Our cruising area is unique for a sailing holiday.  In this part of the west coast of Scotland there are large areas of sheltered waters and perfect remote anchorages for all sorts of waterborne activities, from swimming and fishing to canoeing and windsurfing. The yacht tender will take you ashore to explore the most interesting coastlines and local communities. This part of the west coast of Scotland  is rich in bird and marine life and any sightings of otters, seals, porpoises, basking sharks and minke whales on your sailing holiday will never be forgotten.  St Hilda Sea Adventures is very aware of the special nature of the environment in which it operates and makes every effort to run the boat in a way which protects the places we visit.

Meals on your sailing holiday are freshly prepared by your cook Colette, using local produce from the west coast of Scotland whenever possible, including eating your own catch for dinner! Special diets can be accommodated. Everyone is invited to help with the running of the boat and youngsters in particular love the onboard camaraderie of mucking in together.  Evenings are spent anchored off idyllic remote inlets where you can hear nothing but the calls of the birds and the water lapping against the sides of the boat, with the option to go ashore by tender and try the local hostelry if the idea appeals!

J'ai eu le privilege de faire un voyage au bord de la St Hilda, a boat full of old world charm, what a pleasure it was to take the helm over the misty Scottish lochs, eat a meal in the middle of a sea loch and to taste an old Scottish malt while dangling a hook for a passing fish. Sailing aboard the St Hilda brings an internal peace from this enchanted region. To live simply and to relate to a warm and sympathetic crew - it is a marvelous adventure, an escape from an agitated world.
