Perfect for a small group of friends and family

The St Hilda is  a great sailing holiday for small groups of friends and family.  Teenagers in particular love their time on the St Hilda, not only in learning to sail and navigate the boat, although taking the helm on their own is always a big moment!  Michael is a scientist and likes nothing better than to catch marine wildlife from the microscopic to the edible and examine it with children, with the use of microscopes and other equipment. Activities and wildlife

In this part of the west coast of Scotland there are large areas of sheltered waters and perfect remote anchorages for all sorts of waterborne activities, from swimming and fishing to canoeing and windsurfing. The yacht tender will take you ashore to explore the most interesting coastlines and local communities. This part of the west coast of Scotland  is rich in bird and marine life and any sightings of otters, seals, porpoises, basking sharks and minke whales on your sailing holiday will never be forgotten.  St Hilda Sea Adventures is very aware of the special nature of the environment in which it operates and makes every effort to run the boat in a way which protects the places they visit.

We had a wonderful time. Michael and Colette were perfect hosts and tutors, especially for our son Alex (15) who loved the whole thing, from steering the dinghy to learning the perfect bowline. Colette's food was just as I like food to be - delicious and straightforward - and Michael is excellent company. So for a family like ours - wanting to mess about in boats and see the Clyde and maybe learn a little seamanship - I can't think of a better way to do it.
